My family and I recently went on a 6 day tour of Japan. I have to say, Japan is one of my favorite places in the world. Since I love the place so much, I took a whole lot of pictures! I’m going to do a series of photo posts covering my adventures in Japan. During the first day, we visited Kiyomizu-dera and Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto. The weather was perfect, which I soon learned wasn’t always going to be the case. ^_^

Singapore is practically like my second home. When Universal Studios in Resorts World Singapore opened during the second half of this year, I knew I just had to give it a visit. My friends and I took a weekend and a couple of weekdays off to check out the new theme park and spend a few days in sunny Singapore as well.

This was I think my second visit to Bangkok. My first trip was probably more than 10 years ago. All I cared back then was the food and the shopping. Now however, I was more observant and appreciative of my surroundings. I visited Bangkok as a tourist, joining a package tour that brought us to the usual tourist spots, but I hope that my perspective is something a bit unique compared to others.

My brief stay at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia didn’t allow me too much free time, but at least I was able to afford a quick visit to the Petronas Tower. I didn’t dwell very long in the city but I was able to take a few snapshots of the place.

Mai Khao beach in Phuket is probably the best beach I’ve ever been to. I think it’s the best not because of the usual things that makes beaches well-known. I really liked Mai Khao beach in Phuket because of the extreme calm and serenity I felt there. Although the beach was near several hotels and resorts, the actual beach was deserted and virtually undeveloped. I could have walked kilometers along it’s shoreline without ever seeing another person. I would have taken a lot of pictures while I was there had I brought my DLSR with me. (I hate that I didn’t have my DSLR when I really needed it.)

I just discovered photos I took from our 2007 trip to Sydney, Australia. I have so much photos and so little time that sometimes I just dump them in my hard drive where they are left and ignored for a long time. Seeing these photos bring back some fun memories. We only spent 5 days there but we were able to visit a lot of scenic spots around the city (and the surrounding country). I purchased my D40 right before we left for the trip (it was my first DSLR) so please pardon me if these photos are a tad underexposed.

If I put boredom, a grocery and a point-and-shoot camera together, what do I get? Photos of a whole lot of fruits and veggies, that’s what! I’m not the grocery-shopping kind so when my family and I went to the grocery during our vacation in Shanghai, I found myself taking random photos of the fruits and vegetables on display. The photos are not the best but they saved me from being bored to bits.

[Photography] Famous Buildings Gone Miniature

Aiins World is a theme park where miniature recreations of world famous buildings are on display. The miniatures at Aiins World were crafted with such painstaking attention to detail that visitors feel like they are looking at the real thing. We only spent around an hour and a half inside the park and it definitely wasn’t enough to soak up all the amazing views and facts about these works of architecture.

It would have been so much better if we had visited the during nighttime when all the lights made the miniatures look even more amazing but unfortunately we visited right before noon. Still, I would say they don’t look bad at all don’t they?

China has been famous for their not so good English for some time now. My recent trip to Shanghai gave me a lot of headaches trying to order food from waiters who can barely understand, let alone speak English. Of course to them I’m obviously the ignorant freak who can’t speak Chinese. But anyway, I managed to catch a few funny and not so funny English translations all over the city.
