I went to Beijing, China this year right after winter and just before spring. I didn’t pack any heavy clothes or thermals expecting that the weather was more like spring weather. Unfortunately, it was still pretty cold and when we visited the Great Wall, there was still ice on the ground. I really had to push my coldness tolerance because all I was wearing then were open toed sandals (I wore socks to save my toes), jeans, a knitted shirt and a trench that didn’t really offer any protection from the cold. I didn’t even bring a pair of gloves! Anyway, I survived the cold with a few pictures to remind me of the experience.

I only brought a point-and-shoot camera with me during my trip to Shanghai. I mostly got bad pictures to show from the trip but nevertheless, I’m posting some of them h anyway. We went to the Shanghai Museum and although I don’t normally appreciate ancient art, I had fun taking pictures of the sculptures on display. We also visited the Old City which is like a gem in the middle of ultra-modern Shanghai. It was a fun and worthwhile trip — it’s a shame I wasn’t able to bring my DSLR.
If I put boredom, a grocery and a point-and-shoot camera together, what do I get? Photos of a whole lot of fruits and veggies, that’s what! I’m not the grocery-shopping kind so when my family and I went to the grocery during our vacation in Shanghai, I found myself taking random photos of the fruits and vegetables on display. The photos are not the best but they saved me from being bored to bits.
China has been famous for their not so good English for some time now. My recent trip to Shanghai gave me a lot of headaches trying to order food from waiters who can barely understand, let alone speak English. Of course to them I’m obviously the ignorant freak who can’t speak Chinese. But anyway, I managed to catch a few funny and not so funny English translations all over the city. Check out the photos after the break.
- I like how Miss A has compartments in their performance clothes for their wireless mic transmitters. ^___^ about 1 day ago from TweetDeck
